Where:  Sioux Park parking lot behind the Jimmy Hilton Pool and close to the horse shoe pits.

When picking up packet, whether Friday evening or Saturday morning (starting @ 7:30 am),  please have drivers license available for identification and you will also sign a confirmation of understanding the “Agreement and Liability Waiver” form.

Your packet will include: Color Burst T-shirt (May not be available if registration occurs after 3/24/14, pick up after event TBA), Race bib, Packet of powder, Map of event and any promo material that our sponsors may want to include.

LINE THEM UP and lets have some fun!

1st:    The Cheetahs – This group is fast, furious, and in it to win it!  They are saving their dancing for the finish line and they hope it will be a victory dance!

2nd:   The Rabbits – These runners are serious too, but they don’t want to run as fast as the Cheetahs ‘cuz they don’t want to mess their HARE up!  You’ll see them hard on the heels of the Cheetahs’ though!

3rd:   The Turtles – Slow and steady is this group’s motto!  They jog or walk at a steady pace, and have a bounce and jig in every step!

4th:    The Snails – This group is here to party!  They like to mix it up, so don’t be surprised if they stop jogging or walking to bust a move!

EVERYONE will be a part of an end celebration! This will take place periodically at the finish line, as enough runners/walkers are present to PARTY! The last celebration will take place at 12:00!

Please throw the powder at only the designated color burst station! DO NOT throw any on the bike Path! If you have any questions- ask a worker! They are wearing the wildly cool orange shirts!

What will I wear?

You need to be sure and wear your new “Color Burst Fun Run” T-shirt that we will include with your registration. In addition to that, wear as much white as possible so you can turn into an instant BURST of color throughout the event. We look forward to seeing some BRILLIANT costumes so dress up and show us your UNIQUE style.

Will the Color Burst Fun Run be a timed event?

Unfortunately, we will not be timing this event, so be sure to start your own timer when you start the run.

Are family and friends welcome to watch?

Yes, everyone is welcome at the Color Burst Fun Run. Tell them they may get a BURST of color.

What about inclement weather?

We will BURST with color through rain, snow or shine, as long as it is safe to be outside.

Unfortunately, there are no refunds.

Will the color be permanent?

You may want to dust yourself off prior to getting back into your car and even placing a towel on your seat. It may take a couple of showers for your skin to fully be free of the color. If you want to keep the memories alive with the color on your t-shirt, just use a spray bottle with vinegar in it, to spray the items you want to keep color on, and then you will iron them. This will keep your color bursting long past the event.

Are dogs Allowed?

Sorry, we would love to share with your “best friend”, but we are not able to have them at the event. Please take some extra color home and you can take some pictures with your “best friend” before you are all cleaned up.

Is the color safe?

It is absolutely 100% safe, the color is non-toxic and also biodegradable. It is made from food grade quality cornstarch. Just a reminder, as with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs. If you are very sensitive to these types of airborne items, wear some amazing bright glasses to the event and use a bandana for your mouth. DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES TO THIS RACE!

Are children and strollers allowed?

Yes, children 6 and under are free, but will not receive a shirt or any other goodies. All children must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian and turned in before they are allowed to participate. The waiver can be obtained and signed at the event. Regular strollers are also allowed (skateboards, bicycles, scooters, rollerblades or roller skate are not). We will ask you to please start at the back of the starting line-up in order to minimize the traffic congestion as it starts off. You also need to remember that your child and the stroller will both receive color on them as you go through the COLOR BURST zones.

Do you allow pictures?

Yes, we all do, and remember that you will want to keep your camera in a plastic bag to keep the color out. In addition, all pictures taken at this event can only be used for personal use.

Who will this Color Burst Fun Run event benefit?

The Rapid City Wild Junior Olympic Girls ASA Fastpitch Softball members. Our objective is to promote and perpetuate girls Junior Olympic amateur softball in Rapid City, South Dakota and to aid and assist in fostering, developing and regulating girls JO softball in accordance with the spirit of good sportsmanship, honesty and fair play.
